• Celebrating 50 Years

Summer 2016 marks Amici's 50th year of sending kids to camp! If you're like us, when you think about camp, you think back to meeting life-long friends, learning new skills, building confidence and conquering fears. Camp has the power to unlock kids' potential and gives kids the opportunity to become leaders. That's exactly what Amici has done for 50 years.

Join us as we celebrate 50 years of building leaders, and toast to 50 more!

Celebrating 50 Years

It’s hard to believe that 50 years ago, Amici sent its first camper to camp.  After the 1964 Kilcoo staff spent two summers scraping together enough money, they sent one camper to Camp Kawabi.  This summer, we will send over 250 campers to camp.

When we think of camp, we are reminded of meeting life-long friends, learning new skills, building confidence and conquering fears.  Research is starting to show that camp is more than just canoe tripes and s’mores.  Camp builds “21st century skills”, those qualities needed in a changing economy, such as critical thinking, communication, creativity and collaboration.

In celebration of Amici’s first 50 years, a number of special initiatives will be launched.  We are thrilled to share these opportunities with you and invite you to celebrate along with us, so deserving kids can go to camp for the next 50 years and beyond.

50CAMP Endowment Campaign:  send kids to camp today, for the next 50 years and beyond.

50CAMP Innovation Fund: deepen the leadership impact of camp on Amici campers.

Camp Heroes Gala: celebrate on Nov 19th at Casa Loma for a camp-y evening and relive your favourite camp experiences, including s’mores, campfires and sing-a-longs.

Amici’s Leadership League:  an opportunity for donors to pledge their support to Amici campers for the average length of stay (5 years).

Amici’s Ambassadors’ Council:  a group of community-minded donors who not only pledge their support to Amici campers, but also offer guidance and ideas to help Amici grow and think big to make a more meaningful impact.

John R. Latimer Legacy Society:  build leaders for generations to come by remembering Amici in your Will.

By investing in Amici’s future, you can help kids unlock their potential thanks to the power of camp.
