Campership Committee is a vital team of Amici volunteers that perform reference checks for new camper applicants and make recommendations for support to the Program Manager. The role continues to evolve and now consists of each volunteer acting as a “Camp Coach” to all confirmed new campers and camper families – ensuring campers are ready for camp and answering any questions campers and their families might have before heading north!
Time Commitment: This committee runs each year from December through the summer, with occasional follow-up with families in the Fall once the campers have returned. The committee typically meets 1-2 times as a group, the first of these meetings to be held December 2015. Each committee member is also responsible for several new camper reference checks, and mentoring new camper families. These are completed by each volunteer on his/her own time.
Amici’s Young Professionals’ Council
Amici’s Young Professionals’ Council is a volunteer opportunity for Toronto’s emerging leaders (ages 23 – 35) to utilize their professional skills, creativity, passion and social networks to share the gift of summer camp with underprivileged children.
This is a group for philanthropic minded professionals who are looking for a career development tool and are ready to take on the responsibility of being a leader in their community. We are looking for individuals whose skill set include: Communications, Advertising, PR, Event Management, Finance, Fundraising, Sales, Leadership, Summer Camp or Youth Recreation, Education, Technology, Consulting, Law or Business Management.
The principal function of the group is to act as Amici ambassadors to raise awareness and funds.
Time Commitment: This Council runs all year round, and typically meets once a month, with more frequent meetings in the build-up to an event.
