Campers with Physical Disabilities

Amici welcomes applications for funding for children and youth with physical disabilities from low-income households.

Amici previously partnered with a camp called Camp Awakening, which worked exclusively with campers with physical disabilities. Upon Awakening’s closure in 2023, Amici received a generous gift to continue the legacy of Camp Awakening by supporting children with physical disabilities to attend overnight summer camps. Learn more about the Camp Awakening Legacy Fund.

Amici’s 48 partner camps are all at different stages of their journey towards accessibility and inclusion of campers with varying mobility needs.

As the family of an applicant, you would know best what your camper needs to be successful at an overnight camp and Amici encourages you to reach out to camps directly to determine which partner camp would be best for your child.

Amici is happy to offer suggestions of camps to get you started. Please reach out to Amici’s Program Director, Jodie Adams (jodie@amicicharity.org) and let us know more about the specific needs and interests of your child.
